Piano Lessons

Addison started piano lessons last week.  We borrow a keyboard from our friend Beth so thankfully we don't have to buy one.  I wasn't sure how she would do with her first lesson, drum roll please... she LOVED it.  She was advised to practice for 10 minutes a day by her teacher.  I thought that would be a struggle but shockingly I was wrong.  Addison has practiced piano everyday since the lesson (3days)
It's pretty cool to see her trying out new things.  Go Addie Go.

Almost a year

I totally forgot about this blog.  Life got really really busy and I completely gapped.  A quick catch up...Addison has now started Pre-K.  She has 22 kids in her class and her teachers names are Andrea, Pari and ....I forget the last teachers name.  The school is going through a huge renovation so it's a complete zoo.  Luckily it doesn't seem to be effecting the kids.  The parents are not so lucky, parking is a nightmare.

Addison is now a little girl that has a lot of questions, doesn't like vegetables and still loves pink.  I have embraced pink as much as I can.  She loves to sing, dance and draw.  She likes to say 'no' and i can't blame her.  Being told what to do all the time I would be saying a lot of 'no's'

Addison will be taking her first keyboard lesson this friday.  We borrowed a keyboard from our friend Beth.  I hope Addison loves playing the keyboard/piano.  It's something I know nothing about so it will be nice to have a new sound in the house.

School.

Addison started Pre K this week at Temple Israel of Hollywood.  It's a beautiful school with lots of warm fuzzy people around to help.  Addison likes it once she gets there.  Getting there is the challenge. She doesn't want to leave the house.  I know it's that anxiety of knowing that the world is a big, scary place.  I don't blame her for wanting to stay at home and play with her legos all day.  I'd like to do that too.

Being Grateful

I find as I get older that I am more grateful for the little things in life. It's not the big sweeping changes, it's hanging out with Addison in her "playroom" which is a corner in our living room. It's watching her make a house for her girlie girlies. It's looking outside at the spectacular view that we have had the privilege to see everyday. It's sitting in Addison's playroom, drinking coffee, trying to squeeze every minute I can out of life.

I am grateful for all that I have in my life. I don't think I could say or even think about that in my twenties.

Mornings

Each morning is started with the baby monitor screaming "Mommy Cari!!!", "Mommy Cathy!!!"
Then the question is asked, "Mommy, do you want to play in the playroom?"

After I make my coffee and give the rugrat her milk we head to the playroom, which is a corner in our living room. We either build with blocks, play with legos, dress up dolls or read books.

Then we head to the kitchen with the question of "what do you want for breakfast?" Addison usually wants waffles, flakes and yogurt or something I grew up with. Eggs in a nest.

These mornings are precious. I wish I could bottle them up and keep them on the shelf and revisit them. Thank you Addison, you give us such joy.

Little Bean Ka Ka

This is the name Addison gave a coffee bean. She took little bean ka ka to her play room, (which is a corner in our living room) and proceeded to smash it in a thousand pieces. Then she asked, "Where is little bean ka ka?"

I'm not feeling

That is what you say when you want to take a swig of tylenol, even though you are fine. I think it's the sweetness of it that makes you say almost every night, "I'm not feeling", "I need edicine(medicine)" It's adorable.

UPDATE: You love dance class.
